ガラスボトルとその中に浮かぶ帆船からインスピレーションを受けてデザインされたVESSEL(ベセル)はPLUMEN001(プルーメン)のデザイナー Samuel Wilkinson(サミュエル・ウィルキンソン)によってPLUMEN 001の為にデザインされたランプシェードです。


Influenced by the original Limited Edition Series, the Vessel pendant and table light compliment the flowing form of another of Samuel Wilkinson’s designs: the award-winning Plumen 001 light bulb. Inspired by the idea of a ship in a bottle, the light bulb sits within a blown glass shade. When illuminated the glass tint mutes the light without hiding the bulb’s shape and produces unexpected dramatic reflections that appear holographic.

Samuel Wilkinson 2010年にHulgerとのコラボレーションによる PLUMEN 001で数々のデザイン賞を受賞。彼のデザインに対する情熱は、フォルムや機能性に加えて新鮮でダイナミックなアプローチが垣間みられる作品性によく表れています。

Samuel Wilkinson graduated in furniture and related product design at Ravensboure College of Art & Design in 2002. While at Ravensbourne Wilkinson won several design awards, including the RSA award and D&AD New Blood. He went straight into employment working for leading consultancies such as Tangerine, Fitch:London, PearsonLloyd, and Conran.

Description

ガラスシェード内部に映り込むPLUMENはドラマティックな3次元の光を反射させ、ブロンズとグレイのカラーシェードでは落ち着きを増したシックなイメージとなります。こちらはVESSELペンダントの斜めカットのシェードをそのまま利用したテーブルランプ。まさにデザインの素となった帆船模型の入ったガラスのボトルシップ(ship in a bottle)のように、シェルフやサイドボードから床置きまで様々なシチュエーションに展開できる印象的なアイテムです。シェードカラーはブロンズ、グレーの2種類。Plumen001が付属します。
